Ability Plus Disability Services Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated Finance and Payroll Officer to join its Finance team on a 24-month full-time fixed-term contract. This role offers an opportunity for a junior finance professional with strong organisational skills and attention to detail to develop hands-on experience in accounting, payroll, and business administration within the disability services sector.
The successful applicant will work closely with experienced Finance and Payroll Officers, gaining exposure to a broad range of finance functions. This role is based onsite at either the Cheltenham or Keilor Park locations.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, your responsibilities will include:
- Processing accounts payable and supplier invoices.
- Managing accounts receivable, payment allocations, and debtor follow-up.
- Handling NDIS and TAC invoicing.
- Performing bank reconciliations and general finance administration.
- Processing fortnightly payroll and verifying timesheets.
- Assisting with employee onboarding and maintaining payroll records.
- Undertaking payroll compliance activities, including superannuation and payroll tax.
About You
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 1–2 years of experience in administration, accounts, payroll, or finance support.
- The ability and desire to analyse and interrogate data.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
- Intermediate to expert level proficiency in Excel, including comfort with pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude.
- Experience with MYOB, Xero, or similar accounting systems is desirable.
