Finance Lead

The Position
Reporting to the General Manager, the Finance Lead will be instrumental in overseeing the company's financial achievements and facilitating well-informed, data-backed strategic choices. This role involves introducing structure, diligence, and valuable perspectives to a high-achieving organisation embarking on its next stage of national expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all accounting, reporting, and financial operations across three separate business units.
- Provide punctual management reports, cashflow projections, and performance analyses.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and departmental heads to plan, monitor, and optimise outcomes.
- Manage budgeting processes, project cost management, and profitability assessments.
- Oversee payroll functions, accounts payable/receivable, and statutory compliance requirements.
- Lead initiatives to improve financial systems, processes, and automation.
About You
You possess a commercial acumen, a focus on detail, and comfort in a fast-paced setting. You recognise the critical role finance plays in operational success and prefer direct engagement with business activities over isolated spreadsheet work.
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce (CA/CPA qualification preferred).
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance leadership or management accounting capacity.
- Demonstrated capacity to develop systems, refine processes, and deliver practical insights.
- Proficiency in Excel and cloud-based accounting platforms (such as Xero, MYOB Advanced, or comparable systems).
- Experience within the construction, engineering, or manufacturing sectors is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage directly with senior leadership.
