Finance / Management Accountant
KAILIS BROS. FISH MARKET & CAFE, a proudly family-owned and operated West Australian business established in 1926, is seeking a Finance / Management Accountant. Located in Leederville, our operations encompass seafood auctioning, retailing, wholesaling, and hospitality. We are looking for an individual keen to advance their career by taking ownership of our accounting functions and guiding our experienced administration team.
This full-time, onsite role is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and experienced professional to manage the internal accounting functions of our diverse and fast-paced business. You will lead a dedicated, stable team in a warm and collaborative environment where contributions are valued.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing insightful analysis to support decision-making.
- Reconcile accounts and manage the general ledger, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to streamline financial processes and improve efficiency.
- Manage accounts payable and debtor/creditor control, including the allocation of customer and supplier payments.
- Support the year-end process to ensure smooth and timely completion.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to non-financial managers, helping them understand the financial impact of their decisions.
- Oversee the IT functions and relationships of the business.
Skills & Experience:
- An undergraduate degree or Diploma in Accounting or a related field, with progress towards professional membership as a CPA or CA.
- High level of proficiency and experience in Excel, including PivotTables and VLOOKUP.
- Sound experience using MYOB accounting software, with the ability to develop financial and budget models.
- An analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar accounting role.
