Finance Manager - Accounting Firm
Allure Consulting is seeking a dedicated Finance Manager to join their established team in Melbourne VIC. This full-time, onsite position offers a salary of $120,000 – $130,000 per year.
The firm, a respected 15-partner entity within the top 20 Chartered accounting practices, is located in the Melbourne CBD. The successful candidate will report directly to the board of Partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Managing a small team of finance and administration personnel.
- Overseeing all finance, accounting, and tax functions for the firm.
- Conducting prompt month-end reporting, including creditor reconciliation and standing journal entries.
- Preparing consolidated management reports according to a set timetable.
- Managing year-end financial processes and reporting.
- Overseeing working capital and cash flow management and reporting, including daily working capital reports.
- Producing and monitoring productivity reports.
- Preparing and lodging tax returns and BAS returns for the firm and stakeholders.
- Preparing budgets and forecasts for review.
- Managing creditor accounts.
- Supervising invoicing and debtor management, including reconciliation of APS, Xero, and MYOB debtors.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skills:
- Essential Financial Accounting experience within an accounting or legal practice.
- Proficiency in ERP systems such as Sage, Handisoft, MYOB, or Xero.
- A strong understanding of accounting standards (AASB, IFRS).
- Significant commercial acumen, with the capacity to pragmatically resolve issues and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in managing and leading a team, including developing capabilities and enhancing individual and team engagement.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- The ability to build positive and effective working relationships across the firm.
- Well-developed prioritisation and time management skills, coupled with a proactive approach.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgement when handling confidential and sensitive information.
