Finance Manager Macmahon

About the Role As a Finance Manager, you will ensure the financial health of the Surface Mining Australia operating company. This involves overseeing operational accounting, managing financial risk, driving commercial improvement initiatives to deliver increased value, optimising business systems and processes, and leading financial reporting requirements. This role leads a team that provides business partnering support to project and functional leaders.
Responsibilities
- Oversee End-of-Month reporting activities.
- Develop and deliver the Surface Mining Australia Operating Company financial reporting framework.
- Ensure financial governance and compliance requirements are upheld, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Coordinate the Surface Mining Australia business planning process.
- Oversee working capital holdings and identify and implement opportunities to optimise.
- Identify and coordinate system and process optimisation.
- Lead and develop the finance team, comprising seven (7) Senior Management Accountants and Management Accountants based in Perth and Brisbane.
- Role model respect, confidentiality, and integrity.
What You'll Bring
- A tertiary qualification in accounting or business; postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA qualification.
- Demonstrated experience with large ERP systems (SAP preferable).
- Experience as a senior finance professional within a large resources, construction, or manufacturing business.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-driven and outcome-focussed mindset.
- Practical and strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to teamwork and delivering high-quality outcomes.

- Roster: 5:2/Monday to Friday with regular business travel (up to two weeks per month) to Brisbane.
