Optimum Consulting Group is seeking a hands-on Finance Manager for a well-established, privately owned business operating in the distribution sector. This company, with operations spanning Australia, is backed by Private Equity. Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will assume responsibility for the daily finance operations and contribute to the company's strategic direction.
About the Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and delivering monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Analysing financial data to support strategic planning and budgeting.
- Conducting cost analyses and identifying opportunities for savings.
- Overseeing budget preparation and financial planning processes.
- Ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax obligations.
- Reviewing and improving accounting systems and procedures.
- Evaluating business performance using key financial metrics.
- Managing complex debtor issues and overseeing credit risk.
- Conducting risk assessments and advising on mitigation strategies.
- Leading, managing, and mentoring the finance team.
What We Are Looking For
Candidates should possess:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance role.
- CPA or CA qualification.
- Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to manage compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Experience leading and mentoring a finance team.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
