Finance Manager – Contract
Saputo Dairy Australia is seeking a Finance Manager for a 12-month contract. This role is based onsite at our Head Office in Southbank. As the Finance Manager, you will partner closely with site leadership at Kiewa and Cobram, serving as the primary finance lead for site performance and insights. Regular travel between these sites is required to provide hands-on support to manufacturing operations. You will act as the finance partner to site leaders, functioning as the "CFO of the site," offering strategic insight and a practical approach to ensure accurate, timely, and actionable financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead weekly and monthly financial reporting cycles, clearly articulating site performance and results.
- Provide daily oversight of manufacturing variances, ensuring alignment with process orders and identifying risks and opportunities early.
- Deliver mid-month forecasts and month-end outlooks, incorporating actuals and forward projections.
- Support monthly S&OP and site review processes, contributing financial insights and optimisation opportunities.
- Analyse overheads, salary and wages, utilities, and operating performance forecasts.
- Partner with operational and CI teams to validate cost savings and performance initiatives.
- Review and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Manufacturing Variances (MUV), with a focus on high-priority product lines.
- Support ledger close, journals, reconciliations, and improvements/standardisation in reporting.
- Investigate and resolve manual processes, recharges, and cost allocations.
- Work closely with site managers, providing challenge and support to drive performance outcomes.
About You:
- CA or CPA qualified.
- Proven experience in manufacturing or commercial finance.
- Strong capability in forecasting, reporting, and operational finance partnering.
- Experience working closely with site or operational leaders, with the confidence to challenge and influence.
- Ability to balance big-picture insights with detailed, hands-on analysis.
- Demonstrated track record of solving complex problems and improving processes.
- Strong Excel skills and ERP experience (SAP is highly regarded).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate financial performance.
