Finance Manager - Temporary to Permanent

Michael Page is seeking a Finance Manager for a temporary to permanent opportunity within a structured, compliance-driven organisation operating in a regulated environment. The organisation prioritises governance, financial accountability, statutory adherence, and funding requirements. This mid-sized organisation is located in Melbourne.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for:

  • Leading and managing the end-to-end finance function, encompassing financial accounting, reporting, payroll, cash flow, and overall financial operations.
  • Delivering accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to executive leadership, the Board, and relevant committees.
  • Owning the budgeting cycle, including the development of operating and capital budgets, forecasting, and ongoing variance analysis.
  • Ensuring full compliance with statutory, regulatory, and funding requirements, including audit readiness and financial controls.
  • Overseeing financial systems, data integrity, and process improvements, including driving digital transformation and analytics capability.
  • Providing financial leadership and advice to senior stakeholders, supporting strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making.
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating financial risks while maintaining strong internal controls and governance frameworks.
  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the finance team, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring capability uplift across the function.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across finance operations, including efficiency gains, system upgrades, and enhanced reporting quality.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • CPA or CA Qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian accounting standards, statutory reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.
  • Experience managing financial systems, with a focus on improving processes and leveraging technology and data analytics.
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to provide strategic financial insights to senior stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to identifying and mitigating financial risks, with a focus on governance and internal controls.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage across all levels of the organisation.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with a track record of driving efficiencies and enhancing financial operations.
