The City of Canterbury Bankstown is a significant Council in NSW, serving culturally, socially, and economically diverse communities across Sydney. We provide 28 essential services, including childcare, waste collection, park maintenance, libraries, community facilities, and aquatic centres, to over 380,000 residents.
The Role
CBCity seeks a Finance Officer to contribute to the efficient and effective processing of accounts payable transactions, ensuring smooth operational processes. This role involves assisting in the identification and implementation of process improvements, maintaining compliance in accounts payable, and fostering strong working relationships built on credibility and open communication.
Key duties include:
- Accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, supporting process improvements.
- Ensuring compliance with controls, audits, and statutory/tax requirements, including GST.
- Maintaining accurate financial ledgers and prompt completion of AP reconciliations.
- Supporting work planning and cultivating strong working relationships.
- Undertaking other duties as directed by the Team Leader AP.

Requirements
- Current NSW Driver's Licence.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the functions and responsibilities outlined for this role.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and adhere to strict procedures and guidelines.
- Highly developed interpersonal and analytical skills.
- Capacity to plan and prioritise work.
- Excellent customer relationship skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, PivotTables, and SUMIFS.
- Effective complaints handling skills and experience.
What's on Offer
- Salary: $71,820 per annum (Grade D, Step 1) plus 12% superannuation. Salary may be negotiated based on skills and experience.
- Work Type: Permanent Full-time.
- Location: Bankstown.
- Work Arrangement: Hybrid working model, with three days in the office and two days remote.
