Finance & Payroll Officer - Part Time

About the Role: Momentum Pools is seeking an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join our dynamic office and commence work immediately. This part-time role requires 30 hours per week, with the possibility of a full-time arrangement after a probation period. The position involves a mix of on-site and remote work, with flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing end-to-end weekly payroll, including timesheet validation, management of multiple EBAs, salary staff, part-time, and casual employees.
- Assisting with new employee onboarding and processing weekly superannuation lodgements.
- Completing monthly and quarterly compliance tasks such as Payroll Tax, Incolink, and Coinvest.
- Managing EOFY SPT payroll, Workcover balancing, and TPAR lodgement.
- Overseeing apprentices, including government incentive lodgements and TAFE reimbursements.
- Preparing BAS and IAS for lodgement.
- Managing insurance compliance, claims, and renewals.
- Performing bank reconciliations.
- Preparing and monitoring cash flow statements and forecasting.
- Reconciling Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets.
- Conducting weekly General Ledger checks.
- Managing the asset register.
- Performing ad hoc administrative duties as required.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 3 years of high-level payroll experience.
- Experience in the construction or related industries, with knowledge of EBAs and field crews.
- A strong background in general accounting and bookkeeping principles.
- Advanced proficiency with MYOB, with at least 3 years of on-the-job experience.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and innovative approach.
- High levels of verbal and written English communication skills.
- Previous experience in both accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP).
- Dedication and excellent work ethics.
- Knowledge of financial compliance requirements.
- Ability to work as a team player.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with MYOB.
- Knowledge of government incentive lodgements and TAFE reimbursement processes.
- Experience with ClockShark (Construction time tracking software).
Education:
- Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or business administration.
- Certification in payroll management or bookkeeping is preferred.
- Ongoing professional development in accounting software, such as MYOB, is advantageous.
