Finance & Payroll Officer - Part Time

About the Role: Momentum Pools is seeking an experienced Finance & Payroll Officer to join our dynamic office and commence work immediately. This part-time role requires 30 hours per week, with the possibility of a full-time arrangement after a probation period. The position involves a mix of on-site and remote work, with flexible hours.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing end-to-end weekly payroll, including timesheet validation, management of multiple EBAs, salary staff, part-time, and casual employees.
  • Assisting with new employee onboarding and processing weekly superannuation lodgements.
  • Completing monthly and quarterly compliance tasks such as Payroll Tax, Incolink, and Coinvest.
  • Managing EOFY SPT payroll, Workcover balancing, and TPAR lodgement.
  • Overseeing apprentices, including government incentive lodgements and TAFE reimbursements.
  • Preparing BAS and IAS for lodgement.
  • Managing insurance compliance, claims, and renewals.
  • Performing bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing and monitoring cash flow statements and forecasting.
  • Reconciling Profit & Loss and Balance Sheets.
  • Conducting weekly General Ledger checks.
  • Managing the asset register.
  • Performing ad hoc administrative duties as required.

Essential Skills:

  • A minimum of 3 years of high-level payroll experience.
  • Experience in the construction or related industries, with knowledge of EBAs and field crews.
  • A strong background in general accounting and bookkeeping principles.
  • Advanced proficiency with MYOB, with at least 3 years of on-the-job experience.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a proactive and innovative approach.
  • High levels of verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Previous experience in both accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP).
  • Dedication and excellent work ethics.
  • Knowledge of financial compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work as a team player.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with MYOB.
  • Knowledge of government incentive lodgements and TAFE reimbursement processes.
  • Experience with ClockShark (Construction time tracking software).

Education:

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or business administration.
  • Certification in payroll management or bookkeeping is preferred.
  • Ongoing professional development in accounting software, such as MYOB, is advantageous.

Remuneration:

  • $45 per hour
