Anglicare SQ is seeking a Permanent Full-Time Financial Accountant for its corporate office in Fortitude Valley. This remote position involves the preparation of financial statements, statutory reporting, and the daily implementation of current financial accounting standards and practices. The role will provide timely and accurate reconciliations, cash management, and monthly and year-end reporting services.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and distribute key accounting reports, including monthly, year-end, and ad-hoc financial statements.
- Offer subject matter expertise on the treatment of individual accounting transactions, including journals, reconciliations, cash flow management, taxation treatment, and acquittals, and support project teams as needed.
- Provide subject matter expertise on Prudential compliance in accordance with the Aged Care Act 1997.
- Prepare briefing notes, presentations, and technical reports as requested.
- Contribute to technical research for complex financial reporting issues.
- Support a customer service culture within the team by assisting in meeting agreed service standards.
- Share ideas to promote client satisfaction, improve systems and processes, and deliver outcomes.
Position Specific Credentials, Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Current National Police Check (or ability to obtain).
- Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a similar field.
- Professional Accounting qualification (CA, CPA).
- Financial accounting experience in a large organisation with a significant number of designated cost centres.
- Minimum 3-5 years of financial accounting experience in a large organisation with a significant number of designated cost centres.
- Proven skills in providing high-quality financial reporting services to a variety of stakeholders.
- Previous use of a standard ERP system, such as SunSystems, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar.
- Experience in a high-volume transactional accounting environment, working to strict deadlines and time constraints.
- High-quality written and oral communication skills, including the preparation of briefing notes and reports.
- Valid Australian work visa or eligibility to work in Australia.
