Financial Accountant Carey Baptist College Harrisdale Full-time Onsite

Carey Baptist College is inviting applications for a newly established Financial Accountant position within its Shared Services team. This role is positioned at the confluence of finance, strategy, and organisational decision-making.

This role extends beyond conventional accounting duties. You will collaborate closely with the Executive Manager Business Services, Financial Accountant, and Shared Service Leads to deliver financial analysis, forecasting, and business insights to the Council and Board, contributing to the strategic direction of the College. Your work will encompass areas such as student enrolment trends, workforce planning, significant capital projects, and long-term financial sustainability, influencing decisions with a lasting impact on students, staff, and the wider community.

Your Contributions

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A CA or CPA qualification, or active pursuit of completion.
• Experience in management accounting, financial accounting, or a senior assistant accountant capacity.
• Proficiency in financial modelling, budgeting, forecasting, and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and experience with complex financial systems.
• The capacity to articulate financial information in a clear, practical, and meaningful manner for non-financial audiences.
• A proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation.
• A desire to contribute to a Christ-centred organisation and support the College's mission and values.

Your Responsibilities

• Support long-term financial forecasting and strategic planning initiatives.
• Develop financial models and conduct scenario analysis to inform key organisational decisions.
• Assist with the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes.
• Prepare management reports, financial commentary, and executive dashboards.
• Analyse operational and financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Support the financial governance of major capital projects.
• Develop business intelligence and reporting tools to enhance visibility and decision-making.
• Assist with government funding analysis, compliance reporting, and external reporting requirements.
• Partner with College leaders to provide financial insights that support educational excellence.
