Financial Accountant
Professional Search Group is seeking a Financial Accountant for a permanent, full-time, onsite position in Perth, WA. The salary offered is AUD 125,000 - 130,000 per annum, plus superannuation.
This is an opportunity for a seasoned Financial Accountant to join a prominent engineering and construction firm. The role involves supporting financial reporting, compliance, and month-end accounting tasks within a dynamic project setting. The position provides extensive experience in financial operations, statutory reporting, process enhancement, and business partnering, contributing to the sustained success of a large, intricate organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements, and reconciliations.
- Manage month-end processes, fixed assets, capital expenditure reporting, and general ledger integrity.
- Support external audits, statutory reporting, BAS, FBT, and other compliance duties.
- Maintain AASB 16 lease accounting and contribute to internal financial controls and system improvements.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, Board reporting, and financial analysis.
- Support projects with financial reporting, tender submissions, insurance renewals, and corporate cost allocations.
- Maintain daily cash reporting, bank reconciliations, and payment processing.
- Collaborate with the parent company and internal stakeholders to deliver precise and timely financial information.
- Promote continuous improvement, support finance systems, and contribute to a positive team culture.
- Demonstrate a firm commitment to Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) standards and Decmil's values.
Skills & Experience
- Degree qualified in Accounting or Commerce.
- CA or CPA qualified.
- A minimum of 5 years' accounting experience within a large commercial organisation.
- Solid understanding of ERP systems, Australian accounting standards, and financial reporting.
- Advanced Excel proficiency with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to manage competing priorities in a collaborative team setting.
