Financial Controller
Rarekind People Heatherbrae Permanent Full Time $130,000 - $140,000 base + super
This role offers meaningful, hands-on, impactful work without the focus on corporate ladder climbing. It presents an opportunity to lead, mentor, and empower a team while playing a key part in business decisions.
This position is for an experienced Finance leader who wants to contribute to the bigger picture and is eager to actively participate in achieving business goals. The successful candidate will be the central point of knowledge, capable of delving into detail when necessary and contributing at the leadership level. This individual will ensure numerical accuracy, maintain the smooth operation of the administration team, and drive business progress.
Jayco Newcastle and Hunter Valley Modular Homes are seeking a dynamic Financial Controller to fulfil these responsibilities. You will enjoy being at the centre of operations, possess commercial acumen, and be naturally curious about business operations. Your interest will extend beyond merely reporting numbers to understanding their drivers, offering suggestions, and influencing improved business outcomes.
You understand that strong commercial decisions rely on solid foundations and are practical enough to ensure fundamental tasks are executed exceptionally well. You are motivated by joining a strong business, leading a capable team, and influencing operational direction, rather than solely pursuing career advancement.
You will bring structure, leadership, and commercial thinking to the operations. You will ensure the core functions run efficiently, while providing the information, insights, and support leaders require to make informed business decisions. This role is also hands-on, involving detailed work and a comprehensive understanding of all business facets to facilitate high-impact contributions.
The company culture is described as free of politics and passive contributors, comprising good people building a solid enterprise.
What you will be doing:
- Leading the daily finance and administration operations for two businesses.
- Managing month-end processes, reporting, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and compliance activities.
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting a finance and administration team.
- Collaborating with business leaders to offer commercial insights and financial advice.
- Reviewing and enhancing systems, processes, and reporting capabilities.
- Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow activities.
- Ensuring the business upholds strong financial governance and operational discipline.
You:
- Hold a CPA/CA qualification, or are working towards one.
- Are an experienced Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Finance & Administration Manager.
- Are commercially savvy and comfortable working with business owners and operational leaders.
- Are a natural leader who enjoys developing people and building high-performing teams.
- Are comfortable rolling up your sleeves and getting involved when required.
- Are highly organised, detail-oriented, and process-driven.
- Are a strong communicator capable of building credibility across all business levels.
- Bring energy, initiative, and a genuine desire to improve operational methods.
If you are a dynamic finance professional who enjoys leading people, improving processes, and contributing to a business's peak performance, we encourage you to apply.
