About the Role
The Financial Systems Analyst is a vital member of the Financial Reporting team, tasked with ensuring the stability, integrity, and ongoing enhancement of the Group's financial systems and data environment. This role serves as the crucial link between finance, systems, and data, facilitating dependable financial reporting and supporting executive decision-making through high-quality, well-structured data. With a strong operational focus, the position ensures the effective functioning of core systems during critical reporting periods. Concurrently, it proactively identifies opportunities to streamline processes, bolster controls, and improve the scalability of reporting within a complex, multi-site aged care organisation.
Reporting Infrastructure & Statutory Support
- Support the statutory reporting process, including the administration and optimisation of tools such as OneSource, to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant filings.
- Enhance underlying data flows that support tax and statutory returns, aiming to reduce manual intervention by identifying opportunities and improving the utilisation of automated workflows.
- Enable efficient and reliable monthly reporting through the enhancement of system outputs, data structures, and standardised reporting packs.
- Support periodic investor/stakeholder data requirements by coordinating, validating, and delivering accurate, consistent, and insight-driven data through report builds.
Functional Governance & Control
- Assist in the maintenance of the Chart of Accounts (CoA) across systems like Epicor and Anaplan to ensure consistent data mapping.
- Develop and monitor automated reconciliation tools to verify that sub-ledgers (e.g., resident billing, payroll) balance precisely with the General Ledger.
- Ensure that system workflows and data changes are documented and auditable, thereby supporting the integrity of the Group's financial reporting data.
System Management and Simplification
- Improve and monitor Power BI dashboards and Excel-based reports to deliver clear, actionable insights to finance and operational stakeholders.
- Drive the standardisation and simplification of reporting outputs across finance to enhance usability, consistency, and efficiency.
- Enhance and optimise the interaction between the group management accounting, statutory, and budgeting and forecasting tools, aiming to reduce duplication.
- Workflow Automation: Identify manual processes and collaborate with the finance team to develop automated, system-based solutions that reduce manual intervention.
- UAT Leadership: Lead or support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for system upgrades and enhancements, ensuring no disruption to financial controls or reporting accuracy.
- Act as the financial lead/administrator for key financial reporting, forecasting, and budgeting systems.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A tertiary qualification in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related discipline, or be a Professional member of CPA, CA, or equivalent qualification.
