Graduate Accountant / Assistant Accountant

Blackman Recruitment is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Accountant or Assistant Accountant for a full-time, onsite position at a well-established national organisation in the property industry. The Head Office is located in Adelaide SA, with this role based in Adelaide's inner-eastern suburbs. This is a Monday to Friday opportunity offering an outstanding chance to commence an accounting career within a large finance team. You will benefit from ongoing training, mentorship, and exposure to a broad range of accounting functions. This role is suitable for individuals who have recently completed an accounting degree or possess up to 18 months of practical accounts experience and are seeking to build a long-term career in accounting.

About the Role

As part of a large and experienced finance team, you will gain exposure to various accounting functions and develop technical skills in a supportive environment. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with month-end processes and reconciliations.
• Processing journals and maintaining the general ledger.
• Performing bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Assisting with audit and compliance requirements.
• Providing general support across the finance team.

About You

We are seeking an individual who is eager to learn, takes pride in their work, and enjoys collaborative environments. Essential criteria include:

• A recent degree in Accounting, Commerce, or Finance, or be close to completing your studies.
• Alternatively, approximately 6–18 months of experience in an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Officer, Assistant Accountant, or similar junior accounting position.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• A positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work within a team.
