Graduate Support Engineer

Silentium Defence is expanding and seeks a technically inclined Graduate Support Engineer to join our Support team. This is an entry-level position for a recent engineering graduate to gain practical experience in engineering support, product operation, troubleshooting, field application support, maintenance, and customer issue resolution.

Reporting to the Support Lead, you will collaborate with engineering, project, production, and customer-facing teams to support Silentium Defence’s advanced technology products and ensure system performance in real-world environments.

What You’ll Be Doing In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to assigned support tasks and assisting with the investigation, triage, and resolution of customer and internal support issues.
• Supporting the operation, configuration, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting of company systems.
• Learning to set up, operate, and troubleshoot Silentium Defence products.
• Coordinating with engineering, production, project, and support stakeholders to progress technical issues.
• Supporting the development of customer reporting metrics.
• Assisting with equipment trials, customer operations, integrations, and training activities.
• Developing practical knowledge of product architectures, interfaces, maintenance practices, and support processes.
• Supporting local, national, and international field deployments when required, with appropriate supervision.

About You You are a recent engineering graduate who is curious, proactive, and eager to build a career in support engineering, field applications, or product support. You enjoy practical problem-solving, understanding how systems function, and collaborating with others to resolve technical issues. You are comfortable asking questions, taking ownership of tasks, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You will bring:

• A recent Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Electronic, Electrical, Software, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or a similar discipline.
• Less than 2 years of relevant professional work experience.
• A strong willingness to learn across product support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and customer operations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive and responsible approach to completing tasks.
• The ability to work collaboratively with engineering, project, production, and support teams.
• A genuine interest in Defence technology, advanced sensing, RF, radar, or complex systems.

Exposure to Defence, RF, radar, sensing systems, electronics, software, mechanical systems, or customer-facing technical support would be highly regarded, but is not essential.

Application Eligibility Due to the nature of our work within the Defence industry, applicants must be Australian Citizens and be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Government security clearance. Applicants must also be willing to undertake occasional domestic travel, with the potential to support field activities and customer operations when required.
