Grant & Tax Incentive Consultant (Team Leader) Infinity22 (Australia) Pty Ltd Fortitude Valley $115,000 – $130,000 per year full-time onsite
About Infinity22 Infinity22 is an AI-native boutique accounting and advisory firm. We operate across 22 practice areas, including R&D tax incentives and grants, international tax, vCFO, and corporate finance. Our client base spans Australia, Hong Kong, Singapore, and the US, with support from offshore delivery teams in the Philippines and India. R&D and government incentives form a core part of our business. We are not a traditional firm adopting AI; AI is integrated into our processes for scoping, preparing, and reviewing claims, contributing to our boutique team's output exceeding its headcount. We are seeking an individual who wishes to lead within this environment.
About the Role We are recruiting a Grant & Tax Incentive Consultant to lead our grants and incentives team from our Fortitude Valley office. This is a hands-on leadership position. You will be responsible for the quality and delivery of the firm's R&D and grant work, lead and develop a small team of consultants, manage significant client relationships, and contribute to the growth of this service line. This role is suited for someone prepared to advance into leadership while remaining involved in technical work.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop a team of grant and incentive consultants, including coaching, review, workflow management, and professional development.
- Own the quality, timeliness, and compliance of grant and incentive engagements from initiation to completion.
- Prepare and review complex claims, including the R&D Tax Incentive, Export Market Development Grants, and other government support schemes.
- Advise clients on structuring and maximising available incentives in alignment with their commercial objectives.
- Manage key client relationships and act as a liaison with government agencies such as AusIndustry and the ATO.
- Build and enhance the team's processes, systems, and methodologies, including the application of AI to improve throughput and consistency.
- Track team performance and report findings to leadership.
- Contribute to the growth of the service line through business development and effective utilisation of team capacity.
- Stay informed about legislative changes and shifts in grant and incentive programs.
Requirements:
- Non-negotiable:
- 5+ years in tax advisory, grant consulting, or a related taxation role, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian government grants and tax incentives, with particular emphasis on the R&D Tax Incentive.
- A demonstrated history of delivering high-quality advisory work to commercial clients.
- A relevant tertiary qualification in taxation, science, or engineering.
- AI-enablement: You are currently using AI tools in your work and are actively seeking opportunities to expand their application. This is a mandatory requirement, integral to our operational methodology.
- Highly preferred:
- Experience across a wider range of grant and incentive schemes beyond R&D.
- Experience leading offshore or distributed delivery teams.
- Established relationships with, or direct dealings with, AusIndustry and the ATO.
- Business development and client relationship management experience.
Additional Expectations:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear explanation of complex tax concepts to clients and government bodies.
- Strong project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple engagements concurrently.
- Sharp analytical skills and a meticulous attention to detail.
- The capacity to work autonomously while contributing effectively to a collaborative team environment.
- Fluency with Microsoft Office and relevant tax or accounting software.
What We Offer:
- As a boutique firm, you will experience broader responsibilities, genuine ownership of a technical line, and growth potential defined by your capabilities rather than a rigid grading structure.
- A competitive remuneration package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
- Genuine career progression opportunities; this is a team you can build and be measured against.
- Exposure to diverse and technically challenging R&D and grant engagements.
- Access to professional development and training.
- Flexible working arrangements.
- Supportive leadership focused on your professional growth and wellbeing.
- Modern facilities located in Fortitude Valley.
- A team environment that encourages the use of advanced tools and provides the autonomy to do so.
Application Instructions: If you are a grants and incentives specialist ready to lead rather than just execute, we invite you to apply. Please submit your resume, a concise cover letter, and a brief statement detailing how you meet the key requirements, including your current use of AI in your professional work.
