Home Care Worker - Casual Positions

Kirinari Community Services is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Home Care Workers in Wellington, NSW. We are a well-recognised, rapidly expanding organisation providing essential support services. In Home Services supports individuals in regional New South Wales and Queensland, enabling them to live fulfilling and independent lives within their own homes.

Your Role: In this position, you will adopt a person-centred approach to enhance the lives of our customers in their residences. This involves identifying and assessing customer needs, going the extra mile to support their daily living, and encouraging their choice and control. Duties may include:

  • Personal Care: Assisting with toileting, bathing, showering, oral hygiene, and other personal hygiene requirements.
  • Meal Preparation: Cooking, preparing food, and planning meals.
  • Transport: Providing transportation for medical appointments, social activities, shopping (including assistance), and other outings as needed.
  • Social Support: Conducting welfare checks, fostering meaningful connections, offering empathetic companionship, and maintaining community links.
  • Domestic Assistance: Undertaking tasks such as vacuuming, laundry, general cleaning, dusting, washing dishes, window cleaning, carpet cleaning, making beds, and basic home and garden maintenance.

You should be motivated to make a positive difference and assist customers in achieving their individual goals. Additionally, you will need:

  • Willingness to provide personal care services to customers.
  • A caring and compassionate demeanour with effective communication skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently, while accepting responsibility.
  • Flexibility in work hours and approach to meet customer needs.
  • Access to a fully registered and comprehensively insured vehicle.
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module ‘Quality, Safety and You’.
  • Current First Aid and CPR qualifications.
  • A current, unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence and a willingness to travel as required by the role.
