Role Overview The ILS Engineer will analyse logistics support data and identify trends across equipment and systems to ensure their effective operation and sustainment throughout their Life of Type. This role contributes to the design and development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) analysis outputs, ensuring alignment with customer and end-user operational requirements. Sound logistics support analysis judgement will be applied to develop insights and recommendations for enhancing system performance, reliability, and supportability.

Core Duties

  • Undertake project activities such as Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA) to inform sustainment strategy and system design.
  • Perform tasks relevant to ILS skills and program scope requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments on equipment and systems to identify reliability and supportability issues.
  • Analyse LSA data to develop evidence-based conclusions and recommend improvements to system reliability and supportability.
  • Prepare and deliver reporting documentation according to agreed schedules and quality standards.
  • Support the development of project infrastructure, including tools, metrics, and process improvements.

About You

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Engineering (degree, diploma, or technical certification) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Have proven experience in analysing, reviewing, and reporting technical assessment data concerning the mechanical and/or electrical health of systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and reviewing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products to support system sustainment and performance.
  • Practical experience in the operation and maintenance of systems within a defence environment or similar technical industry.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.

The JORN & A-OTHR Team The Jindalee Operational Radar Network (JORN) comprises three remote over-the-horizon radars (OTHR) in Queensland, the Northern Territory, and Western Australia. This defence radar system provides wide-area surveillance and is vital for supporting the Australian Defence Force's (ADF) air and maritime operations, border protection, and disaster relief. As the industry partner for Sovereign JORN and Australia's largest defence export, BAE Systems is assembling a team to support this portfolio.
