Role Overview

The ILS Engineer will analyse logistics support data and identify trends across equipment and systems to facilitate their effective operation and sustainment throughout their Life of Type. This position contributes to the design and development of Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) analysis outputs, ensuring alignment with defined customer and end-user operational requirements. It requires the application of sound logistics support analysis judgement to develop insights and recommendations that improve system performance, reliability, and supportability.

Core Duties

  • Perform project activities, including Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), to inform sustainment strategy and system design.
  • Undertake tasks aligned with relevant ILS skills and program scope requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments on equipment and systems to identify reliability and supportability issues.
  • Analyse LSA data to develop evidence-based conclusions and recommend improvements to system reliability and supportability.
  • Prepare and deliver reporting documentation in line with agreed schedules and quality standards.
  • Support the development of project infrastructure, including tools, metrics, and process improvements.

About You

  • Possess a tertiary qualification in Engineering (degree, diploma, or technical certification) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Have proven experience in analysing, reviewing, and reporting technical assessment data related to the mechanical and/or electrical health of systems and equipment.
  • Demonstrate experience in developing and reviewing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) products to support system sustainment and performance.
  • Have practical experience in the operation and maintenance of systems within a defence environment or similar technical industry.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain NV1 Australian Defence Security Clearance.
