MS Fabrications QLD Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Leading Hand Boilermaker / Fabricator for a full-time, onsite position in Bohle.

This role involves working closely with management, tradespeople, apprentices, and trade assistants to ensure the efficient, safe, and high-standard completion of workshop and site-based fabrication works. This is an active, non-desk-based supervisory position where you will be directly involved in the work while also coordinating daily activities, allocating tasks, performing quality checks, and managing general job flow.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support boilermakers, apprentices, and trade assistants.
• Allocate tasks and assist with daily job planning.
• Maintain efficient progress of workshop and site-based jobs.
• Read and interpret drawings, sketches, and job instructions.
• Check measurements, materials, and fabrication requirements.
• Assist with fabrication, welding, repairs, and modifications.
• Support breakdown and repair works on customer sites.
• Ensure work is completed safely, accurately, and to client expectations.
• Monitor workmanship and maintain quality control.
• Assist with material preparation and job set-up.
• Maintain safe work practices across workshop and site activities.
• Provide practical guidance to apprentices and junior workers.
• Ensure workshop housekeeping, tools, and equipment are maintained.
• Communicate job progress, issues, and priorities to management.
• Attend quarry, civil, mining, and industrial sites as required.

Requirements:

• Trade qualification (Boilermaker/Fabricator/Welder).
• Strong fabrication and repair experience.
• Ability to supervise and guide workshop staff.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Current driver’s licence.

Desirable:

• Forklift, dogging/rigging, EWP, WAH, confined space qualifications.
• Quarry or mine-site experience.
• Plant and equipment repair experience.
