Vasey RSL Care is a growing not-for-profit organisation dedicated to supporting military veterans and their families. Join our friendly, fun, and supportive team at our Brighton home, which accommodates 40 older persons.

About the Role

The Lifestyle Assistant will co-facilitate group and individual activities tailored to each resident’s assessed needs and preferences. This role aims to help residents achieve their cultural, emotional, physical, social, and spiritual goals through daily living activities. This newly created position will focus on taking residents on outings, requiring the ability and comfort to drive an 8-seater van.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be kind, resident-focused, and enjoy supporting residents to participate in a variety of activities.

You must have:

• Availability to work Mondays and Wednesdays, 10am to 4pm.
• A current, valid driver's licence with the ability and comfort to drive an 8-seater van.
• Knowledge and experience in providing recreational/lifestyle activities to meet the needs of residents.
• A positive attitude towards older people, including an understanding of their needs and a commitment to upholding their rights.

Qualifications in Leisure & Lifestyle will be highly regarded.

You will be able to:

• Work cooperatively as part of a team and follow instructions from an appropriate supervisor.
• Effectively manage time and organise your workload.
• Use an electronic documentation system and undertake documentation.
• Comply with Vasey RSL Care’s infection prevention and control procedures, including the bare below the elbows policy, and wear clothing compatible with the safe manual handling requirements of the role.
