Hyegrove Willoughby is our inaugural community, establishing new industry benchmarks for luxury retirement living.

HyeCare complements this by providing personalised Support at Home services, delivering wellness, engagement, and practical assistance to residents within their homes. Together, Hyegrove and HyeCare deliver a seamless lifestyle experience encompassing hospitality, community, and personalised care.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, compassionate, and creative Lifestyle Officer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Lifestyle Coordinator, you will be instrumental in planning, coordinating, and delivering engaging lifestyle, wellness, and recreational programs for both Hyegrove and HyeCare. This role is suited for an individual who enjoys working with older adults and is committed to enhancing quality of life through meaningful activities, social engagement, community participation, and person-centred care. You will collaborate closely with residents, families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to implement innovative programs that foster independence, inclusion, dignity, and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

  • Activity & Event Delivery
  • Deliver lifestyle, wellness, and recreational activities across Hyegrove and HyeCare services.
  • Facilitate fitness, arts, music, gardening, games, cultural celebrations, and educational programs.
  • Plan and coordinate resident events, outings, and community engagement activities.
  • Conduct one-on-one lifestyle visits for residents and Support at Home clients.
  • Adapt activities to meet residents' individual interests, abilities, and care needs.
  • Encourage participation while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
  • Resident Engagement & Community
  • Provide social support services within clients' homes and the community.
  • Support community access, shopping, appointments, and recreational outings.
  • Assist clients in participating in community activities and maintaining independence.
  • Build positive relationships with clients, families, carers, and community organisations.
  • Observe and report changes in client well-being or support needs to the appropriate clinical team.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Lifestyle Coordinator to deliver quality lifestyle programs.
  • Collaborate with Care Staff, Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals, and Administration teams.
  • Assist with coordinating entertainers, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Participate in team meetings, education sessions, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain accurate activity records, shift notes, attendance, and progress notes.
  • Complete incident reports and documentation in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Adhere to HyeCare policies, procedures, WHS requirements, and infection prevention practices.
  • Ensure compliance with the Aged Care Quality Standards and Support at Home Program requirements.

About You

  • Essential
  • Certificate III or IV in Leisure and Health, Individual Support (Ageing), Community Services, Diversional Therapy, Lifestyle & Leisure, or equivalent.
  • Experience delivering lifestyle, recreational, or wellness programs in residential aged care, retirement living, home care, or community aged care settings.
  • Experience supporting older people with varying physical, cognitive, and social needs.
  • Understanding of person-centred care principles and healthy ageing.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Passion for creating engaging and meaningful experiences for older Australians.
  • Flexible availability to support occasional evenings, weekends, and special events.
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Desirable
  • Experience working within the Support at Home Program or Home Care Package services.
  • Knowledge of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Experience supporting people living with dementia.
  • Mental Health First Aid or Dementia Care training.
  • Experience working in a premium aged care or concierge-style environment.
