Job Description

Lifestyle & Social Groups Facilitator Focus Connect Campbelltown Full-time, Onsite

For over 40 years, Focus Connect has been fostering community connections and assisting individuals in building fulfilling lives through engagement, inclusion, and a sense of belonging. We are dedicated to creating opportunities for older adults to remain connected, celebrate their heritage, form new friendships, and pursue activities that are important to them. Each Social Group we facilitate is designed to cultivate genuine friendships, enhance wellbeing, and empower individuals to live life on their own terms.

We are seeking an energetic, organised, and people-oriented Lifestyle & Social Groups Facilitator to contribute to our key Social Groups program. If you are someone who thrives on bringing people together, enjoys interacting with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, and is motivated to make a tangible difference daily, we encourage you to apply.

About the Role This is a hands-on, community-focused position where your time will be spent directly with participants rather than in an office setting. You will lead welcoming and engaging Social Groups that promote friendships, celebrate cultural diversity, and support older adults in remaining active, connected, and involved within their communities. In collaboration with the Aged Care Manager, you will also contribute ideas for program enhancement, ensuring each experience is meaningful, inclusive, and centred on participant priorities.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Create meaningful Social Groups that support older adults in remaining connected, active, and engaged.
  • Cultivate welcoming environments where individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds feel respected, included, and a sense of belonging.
  • Deliver engaging activities, outings, and community experiences that align with participants' interests, cultures, and aspirations.
  • Develop relationships that foster friendships, build confidence, encourage participation, and lead to thriving Social Groups.
  • Contribute ideas and participant feedback to continuously improve participant experiences.
  • Collaborate with Support Workers, volunteers, and the broader Aged Care team to deliver high-quality Social Groups.
  • Deliver safe, high-quality programs while maintaining accurate attendance and participant records.

About You You are someone who genuinely enjoys bringing people together. You possess a positive outlook, ample energy, and an innate ability to make others feel welcome. You are organised, adaptable, and confident in facilitating groups, with a passion for creating memorable experiences. You value diversity and recognise the uniqueness of each person's culture, language, traditions, and life experiences. Whether you are bilingual, multilingual, or simply passionate about celebrating different cultures and fostering environments where everyone feels they belong, you will find a place at Focus Connect. Above all, you are committed to helping older adults stay connected, build friendships, and focus on what matters most to them.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Experience delivering lifestyle, recreation, community, wellbeing, or social programs within aged care, community services, disability, or a similar setting.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
  • Creativity, initiative, and a collaborative approach.
  • Qualifications in, or studying towards, Leisure & Health, Community Services, Recreation, or a related discipline (desirable).
  • Current Driver Licence (essential).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • National Criminal History Check.

We warmly encourage applications from individuals who are bilingual or multilingual. We also welcome applicants who are passionate about celebrating different cultures and creating welcoming, inclusive environments where everyone feels respected and that they belong.

Why Join Focus Connect? At Focus Connect, you will join a team dedicated to helping people live life their way. Every day, you will assist individuals in building friendships, celebrating culture, discovering new experiences, and staying connected to the people and communities that are most important to them.

You will enjoy:

  • A rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference daily.
  • A supportive and collaborative team that values your contributions and encourages innovation.
  • The opportunity to help shape and grow our flagship Social Groups.
  • A varied, community-based role where each day presents new opportunities.
  • Ongoing learning, development, and career progression within a growing organisation.

Ready to Apply? If you are passionate about bringing people together, celebrating diversity, and helping older adults live life their way, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Submit your resume via SEEK. For further information, please contact hr•@focusconnect.org.au.
