Lifestyle & Wellness Officer

Yaandina Community Services Ltd is seeking a full-time Lifestyle & Wellness Officer to join our team at our 30-bed residential aged care centre in Roebourne. This permanent onsite role involves developing and delivering engaging wellness and lifestyle programs designed to foster resident independence, engagement, and connection. You will collaborate with the aged care team to cultivate opportunities that enhance residents' emotional, social, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing.

Position Requirements

• Plan and deliver innovative individual and group lifestyle programs that encourage independence, creativity, and dignity.
• Work collaboratively with residents, families, and the healthcare team to develop programs reflecting individual interests and cultural needs.
• Support residents in reducing isolation and loneliness, promoting a genuine sense of belonging within the community.
• Build and maintain relationships, possessing a positive demeanour and warm smile to brighten residents' days.
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with older people, particularly those living with dementia or a disability.

Preferred Requirements

• Proven experience working in residential aged care or community settings, ideally with older people living with dementia or disability.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build warm, meaningful relationships with residents of diverse backgrounds and complex needs.
• Aged care experience in a residential or community setting.
• Working knowledge of person-centred care and evidence-based health promotion practices for older adults.
• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, with cultural awareness and respect.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certificate III or IV in Leisure & Health, or a related Community Services qualification.
• Current WA Driver's License.
• National Police Clearance.
• NDIS Screening clearance.
• Senior First Aid certification.
