Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical & Electrical)

A leading manufacturer in a dynamic production setting seeks a Maintenance Engineer with mechanical and electrical expertise to join their Sydney-based team.
Key Attributes:
- At least 3 years of experience in a comparable Maintenance Engineering, Fitting, or Technician role.
- Demonstrated qualifications and experience in both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
- Previous engagement within manufacturing, production, FMCG, or industrial sectors.
- Proficiency in fault-finding and diagnostics for mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Experience executing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive breakdown repairs.
- Familiarity with motors, drives, conveyors, pumps, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
- Experience with PLC-controlled machinery would be advantageous.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.
- A proactive stance on problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a maintenance team.
- Effective communication skills and a strong dedication to health and safety.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting planned preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment and site machinery.
- Promptly addressing equipment breakdowns to reduce production downtime.
- Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
- Maintaining conveyors, pumps, motors, gearboxes, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Assisting with the installation, commissioning, and enhancement of new machinery.
- Contributing to continuous improvement efforts to boost equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Completing maintenance records and ensuring documentation accuracy.
- Collaborating with production teams to optimise plant performance.
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures during work execution.
- Participating in an on-call or shift rota as may be required.
