Your Future Role

Join our Service/Maintenance team at our Bellevue, WA facility and apply your mechanical maintenance expertise in a cutting-edge field. In this role, you will be responsible for the preventative and corrective maintenance programmes for our DMU fleet, which will service the route between Perth and Bunbury.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance and fault rectification on diesel trains according to maintenance plans and procedures.
  • Conduct inspection, servicing, troubleshooting, and replacement activities for diesel powerpack systems, including engines, transmission systems, cooling systems, fuel systems, and associated components.
  • Support the maintenance of mechanical systems such as brakes, bogies, couplers, suspension systems, doors, HVAC systems, and underframe equipment.
  • Identify faults, perform root-cause troubleshooting, and support restoration activities to minimise train downtime.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety requirements, work instructions, and maintenance standards.
  • Support train preparation activities to ensure operational readiness.
  • Record maintenance activities, report defects, and update maintenance documentation and checklists.
  • Assist in improving fleet performance and reliability through timely maintenance actions and identification of recurring issues.

This role requires flexibility to support operational and maintenance demands, including night shifts, weekends (if required), and flexible working hours to support train availability and service requirements.

  • Experience in diesel powerpack systems is preferred, including hands-on experience with diesel engines, transmission systems, cooling systems, and related rolling stock maintenance is preferred.
  • Preventive and corrective maintenance experience, ideally on rolling stock or similar equipment.
  • A trade qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Fitting (Certificate III or Certificate IV in Engineering (Maintenance) or equivalent Australian-recognised qualification) is required.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and flexible hours, when required.
