Hinter vans, a premium off-road campervan manufacturer situated in Coolum Beach, Queensland, is seeking a proficient SolidWorks 3D CAD Designer with a specialisation in sheet metal. The company focuses on creating high-quality adventure vehicles through innovation, engineering excellence, and superior craftsmanship.

This full-time, onsite role is suited for an individual with a strong passion for mechanical design, a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, and the ability to translate concepts into practical, production-ready designs.

About the Role:

• Design aluminium sheet metal components, assemblies, brackets, cabinetry, structures, and systems for custom off-road campervans.
• Develop detailed SolidWorks models, drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
• Design with fabrication methods such as CNC cutting, bending, welding, and assembly in mind.
• Collaborate closely with engineering and production teams to refine designs.
• Improve existing designs and develop new products from initial concept through to production.

About You:

• Highly proficient in SolidWorks.
• Experienced in sheet metal design and fabrication.
• Capable of creating accurate, production-ready CAD models and drawings.
• Possesses a strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Has a practical understanding of manufacturing processes beyond visual representation in CAD.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and takes pride in their work.
• A dedicated worker who thrives in a small, high-performing team environment.

Experience That Would Be Highly Valued:

• Aluminium sheet metal design experience.
• Knowledge of CNC fabrication.
• Experience designing for vehicles, caravans, marine, aerospace, or similar industries.
• Understanding of tolerances, fasteners, welding, and assembly processes.
• Experience managing products from concept to finished manufacture.
