Veritas Recruitment is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer for a full-time, onsite position in Campbellfield. The salary offered is $80,000 plus super.

About the Role

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will encompass:

• Producing engineering designs, drawings, and documentation based on equipment specifications and performance requirements to meet customer specifications.
• Preparing 3D model workshop manufacturing drawings (SolidWorks) for both standard and custom products.
• Developing models and drawings, ensuring all issued items conform to drawing standards that support customer specifications and production requirements, and modifying/updating models and drawings as required.
• Facilitating the design of new products, equipment, or modifications to existing products and equipment, considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical factors.
• Reviewing and developing designs to comply with Australian Design Regulations and undertaking associated FEA analysis.
• Providing technical and process support to Production as required, which may include documenting procedures, Engineering Instructions, and quality control.
• Conferring with sales, engineering, manufacturing, operational personnel, etc., to clarify or resolve problems and produce accurate and clear engineering documentation.
• Producing product or system layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics with associated full bills of materials, including technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and processes.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, you will be:

• Tertiary qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
• Possess established CAD skills in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, with experience using these software packages within industry, not just at university.
• Ideally have worked in the heavy fabrication sector, with experience in fabrication or heavy manufacturing.
• A self-starter keen to join an established team to continue your professional growth.
• A down-to-earth professional with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a team player, and possess excellent time management skills.
