Job Description

The Design Technology Company (DTCo) is looking for a skilled Mechanical Designer/Draftsperson. An existing client requires increased capacity to support a long-term project, necessitating design and drafting support. This role will be remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce models and drawings for engineering projects, continuing through to production release.
  • Apply information derived from engineering specifications, standards, and production systems.
  • Ensure project drawings are completed within deadlines and adhere to defined standards.
  • Verify that drawings comply with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain detailed design documentation and change records.
  • Support engineering functions by providing drawing data and supplied information.

Baseline Requirements:

  • Excellent engineering drawing and drafting skills for production.
  • Australian Citizenship, making you eligible for baseline security clearance.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, accompanied by relevant industry experience.
  • 2–5 years of post-graduate experience in a design engineering role.
  • Proficiency in developing well-structured, complex 3D CAD models.
  • Experience with industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, Solidworks, or similar.
  • A strong capability to develop technical documents and specifications for mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, and to communicate them productively.

Highly Advantageous Skills:

  • Ability to utilise Configurations/Model States within CAD software.
  • Experience with electrical routing in CAD.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based tools such as DropBox, OneDrive, and project management tools like Planner/Trello.
  • Experience with MRP, ERP, PDM, or PLM systems.
  • Experience with other CAD software such as Microstation, NX, etc. is advantageous.

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per year Work Type: Full-time Location: North Melbourne (remote)
