Mechanical Engineer / Design Draftsperson Superior Pak Bundaberg Full-time, Onsite

This position involves delivering high-quality engineering design, calculations, and detailed production drawings for new and modified mobile equipment, while also supporting operational and in-service requirements across the business. This role is suited for a hands-on engineer or a technically proficient draftsperson who values design ownership, enjoys technical problem-solving, and contributes to continuous improvement within a manufacturing setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering & Design
- Design and draft new and modified mobile equipment.
- Produce detailed, accurate production drawings and engineering documentation.
- Perform engineering calculations and contribute to innovation and continuous improvement.
- Possess a working understanding of Hydraulic and Electrical Control systems.
- Assist in resolving in-service equipment and design-related issues.
- Work across multiple engineering projects simultaneously.
- Ensure all designs comply with regulatory and legislative requirements.
- Systems & Standards
- Administer and maintain CAD systems, including Inventor and Vault.
- Assist with the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, systems, and processes.
- Sales & Stakeholder Support
- Work closely with mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, manufacturing teams, production managers, and service managers.
- Develop and maintain engineering drawings and visuals for sales presentations.
- Support improvements to customer service and supplier engagement processes.
- Safety, Compliance & Governance
- Comply with WHS requirements, company policies, and statutory obligations.
- Identify, report, and assist in resolving hazards and incidents.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of intellectual property and customer information.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant trade background with CAD training.
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Desirable).
- Strong background in mechanical design and drafting.
- 3D CAD modelling experience (preferably Autodesk Inventor).
- Practical knowledge of hydraulic and electrical control systems.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
