An established and growing resources operation is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its Asset Management & Planning team. This is a key site-based role focused on improving plant reliability, increasing throughput, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of fixed plant assets.

About the Role Reporting to the Engineering Superintendent, you will deliver practical and sustainable mechanical engineering solutions to site defects, while supporting both ongoing operations and future expansion projects. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to asset performance, reliability improvement, and capital project delivery within a large-scale processing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to maintenance and operations teams, including fault finding, shutdown support, and repair solutions.
• Review inspection reports and conduct fitness-for-service assessments.
• Develop repair scopes, maintenance strategies, and engineering work specifications.
• Lead and facilitate defect elimination initiatives and root cause analyses.
• Deliver reliability improvement projects, including engineering design and capital works.
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and drawings for equipment upgrades and modifications.
• Support procurement activities for new equipment and components.
• Manage engineering-related change processes.
• Contribute to maintenance budgeting, cost control, and contractor management.
• Promote and demonstrate strong safety leadership across site.

About You You are a proactive mechanical engineer who enjoys solving complex plant issues and driving continuous improvement in a heavy industrial or processing environment.

Essential Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a processing plant or heavy industrial environment.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles and fixed plant equipment.
• Experience with defect elimination and root cause analysis methodologies.
• Knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies (e.g. vibration analysis, lubrication, thermography, alignment and balancing).
• Practical statistical analysis skills related to reliability and failure data.
• Permanent Australian work rights.
• National Police Clearance.
