MEP Electrical Project Engineer

Parklife Metro DC, in partnership with the NSW Government, is undertaking a significant infrastructure project in Western Sydney as part of the Sydney Metro - Western Sydney Airport line. Our consortium comprises Plenary, RATP Dev, Siemens, and Webuild, delivering this substantial project under the Stations, Systems, Trains, Operations and Maintenance (SSTOM) package. This includes the development of six new stations, a stabling and maintenance facility, rail systems, and a fleet of driverless trains.
The Opportunity We are seeking an experienced MEP Electrical Project Engineer to contribute project solutions for high and low voltage, as well as communication infrastructure. This role will support the team in coordinating design, construction, and commissioning activities. You will lead and manage engineering and electrical staff and contractors, plant, and equipment to achieve project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing detailed electrical power and control system designs, including CAD drafting, equipment specification, and project documentation.
- Draft Statements of Work (SOW) and design documentation for suppliers.
- Participate in auditing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) with suppliers and equipment overhaulers.
- Drive product roadmaps and initiatives, and participate in technical design.
- Provide design inputs and reviews for other projects.
- Resolve systematic issues by providing short, medium, and long-term solutions.
- Provide technical support to the Electrical Superintendent in coordination meetings with the Client, Suppliers, and other Third Parties.
- Provide technical support in defining interfaces related to Electrical systems with Civil Works, Rail Systems, Rolling Stock, Operations & Maintenance (O&M), and other Third Parties.
- Support the planning of material, resource, component, or system usage within the project to ensure project success, value for money, and best practice.
- Coordinate resource allocation, encouraging effective teamwork and fostering a positive attitude towards achieving organisational objectives.
- Interface regularly with internal discipline leads and design teams.
About You
- Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering or a similar field.
- A minimum of 4 years of post-graduation experience in engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Electrical systems within a Metro/Railway environment, including:
- HV/LV Substations
- Earthing systems
- LV distribution systems (panels, cable ways)
- Lighting systems
- Small Power systems
- ELV systems
- PV systems
- Knowledge of Microsoft Suites.
