NDIS Local Area Coordinator (Taree)

Uniting NSW & ACT is seeking applications for NDIS Local Area Coordination (LAC) professionals to join our team at the Taree HNEC site.

Position Details:

• Work Type: Full-time, Permanent
• Hours: 38 hours per week, Weekdays, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
• Location: Taree
• Reporting: To the Service Area Leadership Team
• Start Date: Ideal start date to be confirmed.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary: Commencing at SCHADS 4.1 per year, equivalent to $46.70 per hour.

Role Responsibilities: As a Local Area Coordinator, you will:

• Utilise people skills, multitasking ability, and adaptability to assist participants in connecting with and navigating the NDIS.
• Guide participants in making informed choices and gather information for NDIS plan development to foster capacity building.
• Support NDIS participants in exploring pathways to achieve their goals and understand their plan funding.
• Provide linkage and referrals to community and mainstream services, as well as services funded by NDIA Grant programs, for people with disabilities, their families, and carers.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of how to best support NDIS participants through various stages of their pathway, with hands-on NDIS and Uniting training.
• Undertake other duties as requested by the Service Area Leadership Team that are consistent with the general nature and responsibilities of the position.

Candidate Profile: We are looking for individuals with:

• Strong people skills, customer service experience, excellent communication, and time management abilities.
• A background in disability, understanding of Local Area Coordination, NDIS knowledge, or lived experience.
• The ability to efficiently manage multiple responsibilities, experience with high KPI-driven work or targets, or caseloads, and meet service delivery deadlines.
• Adaptability, empathy, and resourcefulness.
• Alignment with Uniting’s everyday values: compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.

Desirable Attributes:

• Lived experience and/or experience caring for someone with a disability.
