Payroll and Finance Administrator

Thermal Engineering Pty Ltd is looking to onboard a Payroll and Finance Administrator. This position will deliver precise and punctual financial and payroll administration services to underpin the company's operations. The role is tasked with ensuring payroll is processed in line with applicable legislation, maintaining financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, performing reconciliations, and undertaking general administrative duties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll:
- Payroll administration, including the collection and processing of timesheets.
- Maintaining employee records and compliance documentation.
- Processing invoices, purchase orders, and providing general accounts support.
- Coordinating staff onboarding necessities such as medicals, tickets, and inductions.
- Managing customer and supplier documentation.
- Performing general office administration, including data entry, filing, and correspondence.
- Supporting the broader business with ad hoc administrative tasks.
- Finance:
- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Preparing and reconciling bank accounts and credit card statements.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end financial processes.
- Preparing journals and general ledger reconciliations.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and filing systems.
- Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Supporting external audits by providing requested documentation.
- Compliance:
- Ensuring adherence to Australian taxation, superannuation, payroll, and financial regulations.
- Preparing and submitting required statutory payments and reports, including BAS.
- Maintaining financial controls and identifying avenues for process enhancement.
- Ensuring records are kept in accordance with company policies and legislative requirements.
Skills and Experience Required:
- A minimum of two years of experience in payroll and accounts processing.
- An understanding of payroll legislation and accounting principles.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience utilising MYOB accounting and payroll software is essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organisational and time management capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- The capacity to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications:
- A Certificate IV or Diploma in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Payroll Administration, Business Administration, or a related field is desirable.
- Relevant payroll or accounting experience.
- Current knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and Fair Work requirements.
