Payroll & Finance Officer Insight Electrical Technology Bayswater
Insight Electrical Technology is seeking a Payroll & Finance Officer to manage payroll end-to-end and contribute to the broader finance team. This full-time, onsite role is based in Bayswater.
About the Role This position offers the opportunity to lead the payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely payment of wages, allowances, superannuation, and statutory obligations. You will interpret Awards and Enterprise Agreements, validate timesheets, and maintain employee records. In addition to payroll, you will support accounts, compliance, reporting, and procurement within a close-knit finance team.
Your Responsibilities
- Payroll Processing & Administration: Manage end-to-end payroll, including wages, allowances, superannuation, and statutory obligations. Interpret Awards and EAs, validate timesheets, and maintain accurate employee records.
- Compliance & Statutory Obligations: Oversee payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG, and year-end processing. Maintain documentation for audits and escalate material risks to the Corporate Services Manager.
- Core Financial Operations: Support Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, invoicing, payments, reconciliations, and expenses. Maintain accurate financial records with internal controls across General Ledger accounts, leave provisions, and clearing accounts.
- Procurement & Supplier Management: Set up and manage suppliers, purchase orders, approvals, and reconciliation. Ensure accurate cost coding and purchasing governance.
- Reporting, Forecasting & Analysis: Prepare financial reports and budgets. Monitor performance metrics and highlight risks, variances, and trends to inform business decisions.
- Administration & Continuous Improvement: Support finance and payroll workflows, inboxes, and document control. Identify and implement improvements to processes, controls, and systems.
What You’ll Bring
- Solid end-to-end payroll experience, including Award and EA interpretation, timesheet validation, and employee lifecycle management.
- Sound knowledge of payroll compliance obligations: PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, long service leave, and year-end processing.
- Broader finance experience across accounts, reconciliations, or reporting, with comfort across both payroll and general finance tasks.
- Experience with Xero; exposure to construction or project-based finance systems is an advantage.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet hard deadlines.
- Clear communicator with a collaborative approach and the confidence to engage across operational and leadership teams.
- Relevant qualification in accounting, finance, or business, or equivalent experience.
