Payroll & HR Manager – Northern Suburbs, Perth

The Andersen Partnership is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll & HR Manager for a full-time, onsite position in Perth, WA.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for leading all payroll and human resources functions to ensure compliant, efficient, and employee-focused operations. You will serve as a trusted advisor to management and employees, ensuring accurate payroll processing, regulatory compliance, and the development of effective HR policies and practices that support organisational objectives.

About the Role As the Payroll & HR Manager, you will oversee end-to-end payroll processing for up to 130 staff at peak times and lead the full spectrum of HR functions. You will play a key role in maintaining compliance with employment legislation, supporting employee relations, and fostering a positive workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Human Resources Management
  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies and procedures.
  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including investigations and conflict resolution.
  • Lead performance management processes and support talent development.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.
  • Coordinate training and development initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the WHS team to manage workers’ compensation claims.
  • Payroll Administration
  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing (fortnightly) with accuracy and timeliness using Tanda and Account Right.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory deductions, and reporting requirements.
  • Administer employee benefits, leave tracking, and compensation adjustments.
  • Respond to payroll queries.
  • Compliance & Reporting
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and labour regulations.
  • Prepare and submit statutory reports and regulatory filings.
  • Monitor legislative changes and update policies accordingly.
  • Strategic & Operational Support
  • Contribute to HR strategy aligned with organisational goals.
  • Provide HR metrics and workforce reporting to senior management.
  • Support organisational change initiatives.

About You You are a confident and knowledgeable HR professional with strong payroll expertise and a high level of integrity. You thrive in a hands-on role and can balance operational detail with strategic thinking.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in payroll management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing end-to-end payroll.
  • Strong knowledge of Industrial Relations laws.
  • Experience developing and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Proven experience handling employee relations matters.
  • Experience using Account Right for payroll and Time & Attendance systems (TANDA preferred).
