Payroll Officer – Newcastle
ASR Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Officer for a full-time, onsite role in Newcastle. This is an opportunity to join a growing organisation and a settled, supportive team.
This is a hands-on, end-to-end payroll position operating within a high-volume and complex environment. The successful candidate will manage their own workflow, interpret payroll data, work confidently with Enterprise Agreements, and contribute to accurate payroll reporting. The organisation is looking for an individual who is detail-focused, analytical, and comfortable navigating complex payroll information and systems.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Processing end-to-end payroll across multiple pay cycles and pay streams.
- Managing high-volume payroll within a complex operating environment.
- Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements, awards, and payroll legislation.
- Reviewing and interpreting payroll data to identify discrepancies and trends.
- Preparing payroll reports and providing accurate information to internal stakeholders.
- Investigating payroll issues and resolving employee queries.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and supporting reconciliations.
- Working closely with HR and Finance to ensure smooth payroll operations.
What You’ll Bring
- Proven end-to-end payroll experience within a complex, high-volume environment.
- Strong experience interpreting Enterprise Agreements, awards, and payroll legislation.
- The ability to analyse payroll data, investigate discrepancies, and confidently explain findings.
- Previous experience preparing and interpreting payroll reports.
- Experience working with large, complex ERP and payroll systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
