Payroll Officer Ecosmart Group Laverton, Onsite, Part-time
Ecosmart Group is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Officer for a permanent part-time, onsite role at our Laverton location. This position involves the complete processing of our weekly payroll for approximately 70 employees within a growing business. The successful candidate will manage the payroll function within a team that values accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement. This role is suited for individuals who enjoy working independently, possess a strong understanding of payroll compliance, and are committed to delivering accurate results.
About the Role
The Payroll Officer will be responsible for:
- Managing the end-to-end weekly payroll process using Xero Payroll.
- Reviewing, validating, and reconciling employee timesheets and attendance records.
- Processing pay rate increases in line with employee anniversaries and employment agreements.
- Lodging superannuation payments and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
- Completing monthly payroll reconciliations and statutory reporting, including Payroll Tax and LeavePlus lodgements.
- Responding to payroll-related enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Maintaining accurate payroll records while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Assisting with continuous improvements to payroll processes and systems as the business grows.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience managing end-to-end payroll.
- Strong working knowledge of Xero Payroll.
- Experience using time and attendance systems.
- Sound knowledge of payroll legislation, Awards, National Employment Standards (NES), leave entitlements, and superannuation obligations.
- Experience with LeavePlus and State Revenue Office reporting (highly regarded).
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
