Payroll Officer

Payroll Officer | 3-Month Contract | Adelaide SA

Who is hiring? Mansfield & Co Recruitment is partnering with a well-regarded not-for-profit organisation to recruit two experienced Payroll Officers. These roles are for an immediate start and are contract-based, with a genuine opportunity for them to become permanent for suitable candidates.

What is the role? Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll within a collaborative Payroll and People & Culture team. This is a complex payroll environment involving multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements. You will be expected to process payroll independently but will receive support from the Payroll Manager, Employee Relations, and People & Culture teams for award interpretation and complex queries. The team has well-documented payroll procedures.

A typical week will involve:

• End-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll.
• Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring data accuracy.
• Processing payroll changes, including new starters, terminations, and leave.
• Responding to payroll enquiries in a timely and professional manner.
• Assisting with payroll reporting and compliance requirements.
• Working across multiple Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
• Liaising with Payroll, Employee Relations, and People & Culture teams to resolve complex payroll matters.

What is required? To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Demonstrated end-to-end payroll experience.
• Chris21/iChris experience is essential.
• High attention to detail with excellent data entry accuracy.
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex payroll scenarios.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Able to commence ASAP or at short notice.
