Payroll Specialist - 12 Month Contract
Equity Trustees Limited is seeking a Payroll Specialist for a 12-month contract role, operating 4 days per week (days are flexible). This hybrid position is based in Melbourne VIC.
Reporting to the Business Manager, the successful candidate will manage the end-to-end administration of payroll and contribute to broader People and Culture functions, including reporting and process improvement. This role is suited for a professional who enjoys collaborative work and is dedicated to delivering a high-quality employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process fortnightly payroll accurately and punctually, encompassing superannuation and associated reporting.
- Ensure adherence to employment agreements, industrial instruments, taxation requirements, and Single Touch Payroll obligations.
- Maintain payroll data integrity and support ongoing enhancements within Workday.
- Manage payroll deductions, salary sacrifice arrangements, and leave administration.
- Collaborate with Finance on payroll reconciliations, audits, payroll tax, FBT, and related compliance activities.
- Prepare monthly People reporting and dashboards for leadership stakeholders.
- Generate Workday reports to provide business insights.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related queries across the organisation.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support People projects and initiatives.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of payroll experience.
- Strong understanding of payroll, superannuation, taxation legislation, and employment awards and agreements.
- Experience with Workday, Peoplesoft, or similar payroll systems.
- An interest in systems and configurations.
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
