An opening exists for a Payroll Specialist to integrate into the payroll operations of a substantial, intricate organisation.

Reporting to a collaborative, high-achieving payroll team, your remit will involve delivering precise, compliant payroll results. You will also contribute to refining processes and supporting a developing payroll landscape. This position is suited to an individual who finds satisfaction in resolving intricate payroll challenges, excels in a dynamic setting, and seeks to assume increased operational duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Process and supervise end-to-end payroll across multiple pay cycles, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legislative mandates.
• Coordinate daily team workflow, assisting with workload prioritisation to meet critical deadlines.
• Serve as the primary point of escalation for complex payroll inquiries, offering technical direction and assistance.
• Validate, audit, and approve payroll outputs, including outsourced international payrolls.
• Interpret Enterprise Agreements, awards, and employment legislation to achieve compliant payroll outcomes.
• Manage payroll-related statutory obligations, encompassing superannuation, taxation, and banking necessities.
• Contribute to payroll system enhancements, testing, process improvements, and ongoing refinement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience processing complex, high-volume payrolls within a large corporate setting.
• Robust understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and compliance requirements.
• Experience in interpreting Enterprise Agreements, awards, and complex employment conditions.
• Proficiency using large ERP payroll systems such as SAP or comparable systems.
• Proven capacity to investigate and resolve intricate payroll issues with a high degree of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the confidence to provide technical payroll advice across the organisation.
