About the Role Due to recent developments within the Payroll team, two new Team Leader positions have been established to foster the development and growth of Payroll Officers in both the Monthly and Enterprise Agreement (EA) spaces.
In this capacity, you will support and guide the teams to ensure timely allocation and delegation of work and serve as an escalation point for payroll inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate work within the team, offering support as an escalation point and enhancing the broader team's capabilities.
- Review, monitor, and implement enhancements to payroll processes and systems.
- Process fortnightly payroll and any interim payments.
- Ensure accurate reconciliation and payment of all deductions and superannuation, including liaison with external funds.
- Assist in reviewing existing systems, developing improved procedures, and documenting them in consultation with management.
- Interpret relevant employer/employee registered agreements, Awards, directives, and policy requirements to ensure correct employee payment and effective maintenance of employee master file details.
- Calculate and prepare manual payments, including those for terminations, adjustments, and redundancies.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in payroll environments, including staff supervision and/or leadership.
- Demonstrated knowledge of industrial awards, industrial relations, and WorkCover claims policies and procedures.
- Experience in resource management coupled with sound supervisory skills, managing multiple complex awards and EAs.
- Experience operating within an integrated multi-system environment.
- Experience working with third-party providers, including Centrelink, the ATO, Super funds, and Employee Benefits management organisations.
- In-depth understanding of the Pay Force National computerised payroll system.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with SAP SuccessFactors, ADP Payforce, and RosterOn is beneficial.
