KBR supports water customers across Australia, focusing on delivering optimal drinking water and wastewater treatment services. We are also dedicated to innovating methods to safeguard and secure national water supplies, enhance public spaces, and improve livability.
Our team is expanding following significant project wins. We are looking for a Principal Civil Engineer with experience in municipal water pipelines, sewer design, trunk mains, and water reticulation systems.

This 10-year contract involves ABK planning and delivering major infrastructure upgrades in partnership with South East Water, utilising a new integrated capital works planning and delivery model.
This role offers career growth through collaboration with diverse teams on projects spanning the full asset lifecycle, from strategic planning for future cities to gaining practical experience by working with construction partners to "construct your design." Opportunities within this KBR team are extensive.
Who You Are:
- A design-focused Principal Civil Engineer experienced in detailed design, project management, client interaction, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Motivated by achievement, outcome-focused, and capable of presenting professionally to peers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Possess previous experience designing major water pipeline projects (250mm-1000mm diameter).
- Understand or have experience in sewer design, trunk mains, and pump stations across various design lifecycle stages.
- Demonstrate a pragmatic approach to developing constructable design solutions.
- Exhibit proven commercial acumen in the delivery of water infrastructure.
Skills and Experience:
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) with a track record of delivering various complex detailed design projects.
- Demonstrated experience in the water infrastructure sector within a consulting environment.
- Proven ability to work within and lead engineering, planning, and design modelling teams.
- Experience working directly with water authority clients.
- Ability to manage projects according to scope, budget, and program.
Who We Are:
KBR's water team provides services across the entire water cycle, encompassing major pipelines, large pumping stations, and advanced water, wastewater, and recycling treatment plants. We address critical water cycle challenges and offer solutions through flexible program delivery models and ongoing asset management programs. As a market leader in program management consulting, we support key water utilities in achieving phased capital expenditure savings while delivering optimal environmental and community outcomes, contributing to lower water bills for millions of Australians.
