Evolution Mining is seeking a Principal Planning Engineer to join our team in Brisbane, QLD. This is a full-time, onsite position.

The Opportunity The Principal Planning Engineer role, based at North Parkes (NPO) within the long-term planning team, involves identifying value-generating opportunities aligned with the asset's strategic plans. Responsibilities include supporting the development of current and new projects, providing guidance based on global best practices, and identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in bulk mining planning, including Block Cave, Sub-Level Cave, and Open Pit methodologies.

As a member of the Brisbane-based long-term planning team, you will:

• Identify strategic scenarios for sites and deliver optimised mine designs and schedules to support the selection of a preferred pathway for Evolution Mining's life-of-mine plan.
• Engage with corporate and site stakeholders to gather and integrate inputs for potential scenarios.
• Contribute to the identification of risks and opportunities, including the development of action plans.
• Participate in and contribute to our LOM season workshops at the technical hub.
• Assist the study team in delivering mine extension studies.
• Develop the ore reserve statements for NPO as the primary competent person.
• Collaborate with site teams to ensure tactical objectives align with strategic plans.

Requirements

• Evolved underground mining experience.
• A degree in mining, civil, or geotechnical engineering.
• In-depth exposure to Block Caving and Sub-level caving methodologies.
• Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik CAD and Scheduler.
• Exposure to optimisation tools like Deswik SO, Datamine SO, Apex, or Minemax.
• Ability to develop and interpret draw strategies.
• Competent Person under the JORC Code for Ore Reserves.
• Enjoy working across diverse teams to develop long-term mine designs and schedules that align with business goals.
