Principal Structural Engineer
Connexus Recruitment Pty Ltd. is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer for a full-time position in Castle Hill, with a salary range of $120k - $160k per annum plus superannuation. This role offers remote work flexibility.
This opportunity is with a Sydney-based consultancy of over three decades, operating across residential, commercial, industrial, and civil sectors, as well as forensic and remedial investigations. The firm has no corporate layers, allowing direct engagement with its leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Full project ownership from initial client engagement through to completion.
- Direct liaison with architects, certifiers, builders, and councils.
- Conducting site inspections.
- Authoring technical reports.
- Making decisions regarding risk and design without hierarchical approval delays.
- Reviewing the work of junior engineers and providing mentorship.
- Business development, including leveraging existing networks and preparing fee proposals, for those interested.
Requirements:
- 8-15+ years of post-graduate experience, at a Senior to Associate level.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience within Australian consulting engineering environments.
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and NCC requirements.
- CPEng or active progress towards obtaining it.
- Comfortable managing residential, small commercial, industrial, and civil projects independently.
- Familiarity with software such as SpaceGass, RAPT, Tekla Tedds, or Bluebeam.
Desirable Qualifications:
- NSW Design Practitioner registration.
- An existing Sydney/NSW network and experience in preparing fee proposals, if business development is an area of interest.
