Project Accountant - Contract

Capital Region Community Services Ltd is seeking a Project Accountant for a contract position based onsite in Bruce. This role offers an opportunity to lead a significant financial systems integration project while ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and compliance of financial operations.

This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys enhancing the practical application of finance systems. You will collaborate with the Executive Manager Business and Infrastructure to examine current processes, reinforce financial controls, improve reporting capabilities, and assist CRCS in leveraging technology for enhanced organisational decision-making.

About the Role

Your responsibilities will include leading the integration and optimisation of CRCS’s financial systems, alongside maintaining the integrity of end-of-period accounting processes. You will provide support for automation, systems enhancements, financial reporting, acquittals, audit preparation, and compliance obligations, including GST, FBT, and superannuation guarantee requirements.

This role requires strong accounting knowledge, a practical problem-solving approach, and the confidence to engage with systems, data, processes, and people. You will also be expected to communicate financial and systems matters clearly and support teams through periods of change.

What You Will Bring

• A degree qualification in Accounting.
• Current CPA or CA membership, or significant progress towards completion.
• Experience in accounting and finance roles, encompassing reporting, reconciliations, and end-of-period processes.
• Experience with financial systems analysis, implementation, integration, support, and improvement.
• Strong skills in Excel, Microsoft Office, and financial management information systems.
• Sound knowledge of financial controls, compliance requirements, and statutory obligations.
• A collaborative working style, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Undertake a National Criminal History Clearance by CRCS prior to commencing and every three years thereafter as a condition of employment. Employees are required to advise CRCS of any convictions that may affect their eligibility to work or perform the inherent requirements of their position.
• Maintain full COVID-19 vaccination currency and provide evidence of their vaccinations to CRCS (sensitive information is kept private and in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles) unless they are able to provide suitable evidence of a medical contraindication that prevents them from receiving this vaccine.
