Project Accountant

MIPAC Pty Ltd is seeking a Project Accountant to provide support for financial reporting, system administration, and core accounting functions throughout the organisation.

Working in close collaboration with the CFO and the finance team, your responsibilities will include preparing and analysing financial data, assisting with month-end procedures, reporting, and compliance activities. This role also offers the chance to contribute to enhancements in reporting and systems, including the creation of reports and dashboards to improve business visibility. You will be part of a collaborative finance team, contributing to daily accounting tasks while also supporting ongoing improvement initiatives for systems and reporting. This position is suited for a professional who is detail-oriented, enjoys engaging with a range of activities, and has an interest in refining processes and the presentation of information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for the Greentree financial system, providing support for system administration and continuous improvements.
  • Manage the chart of accounts, cost centres, and reporting structures to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Support financial system activities, including user access, entity setup, and period rollovers.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial and management reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and the finance team to support project reporting and cost tracking.
  • Execute month-end processes, encompassing accruals, reconciliations, work-in-progress, and cost adjustments.
  • Support intercompany accounting, including consolidations, eliminations, and reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit processes and statutory compliance (BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT).
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of reports and dashboards.
  • Provide support across the finance team and assist with ad hoc tasks as required.

About You:

You are an experienced Project Accountant with:

  • Experience in financial and/or management accounting.
  • Comfort working with data and an aptitude for understanding how information interconnects.
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to tasks.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (Greentree experience highly regarded) and Excel.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to your work.
  • An interest in improving systems and reporting processes.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Economics, or a related field.
  • CA/CPA qualification or progress towards one.
  • Experience working across multiple entities and foreign currencies is desirable.
