Project Controller

Darwin Ship Repair Pty Ltd (DSR), a Paspaley Pearls Group company, is Darwin's premier ship repair, engineering, and maintenance provider, operating six dry repair berths and three wet berths.

As a Project Controller, you will be an integral part of the Project Team, collaborating with Management to establish project objectives. Your role will involve developing and managing project budgets and schedules, analysing progress against work plans, suggesting improvements, and ensuring consistent, accurate documentation and reporting.

The ideal candidate will possess a trade background with experience in mechanical maintenance planning, project coordination, and scheduling within a heavy industry setting. Strong computer proficiency and meticulous attention to detail are equally important. You should be adept at collaborative work, liaising directly with stakeholders, demonstrating initiative in process enhancement, and influencing outcomes. Effective communication and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to make decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical support and guidance to the team.
• Assist in developing Project Work Packs and other operational instructions.
• Support the creation and upkeep of routine operational maintenance programs for all vessels and equipment.
• Ensure all operations adhere to the NT Work Health Act / Regulations.
• Schedule all project-related activities to generate and maintain an integrated critical path schedule, reporting potential issues.
• Update and assess the accuracy of project forecasts by evaluating incurred costs and physical progress across all project phases.

Desirable Qualifications:

• Engineering qualification
• Mechanical or Fabrication Trade qualification
• Work at Heights qualification
• Confined Space Entry qualification

Experience in the marine or shipwright industry is encouraged, though not absolutely essential.
